Casino ownership changes

Why casino sister sites change

Casino sister sites can change while the casino name stays the same. Heart Bingo's move from Gamesys to BV Gaming shows why an old brand list can stop matching today's operator.

Flutter's Sky acquisition and MGM's LeoVegas purchase changed wider ownership. Your account arrangements still need their own answer.

Company announcements checked 8 September 2026.

A familiar casino can join a different family

Heart Bingo stopped belonging to its former Gamesys operation when BetVictor relaunched the brand in September 2021. The casino kept its familiar name throughout that change. You can still find older references connecting Heart Bingo with Jackpotjoy, although today's Heart Bingo agreement names BV Gaming Limited as the operator.

Casino sister sites change when the companies running them change. A brand moving to another operator joins a different operating family, even if its colours and web address stay familiar. Your existing account needs a separate answer, because the new company's name doesn't tell you who handles money left with the previous business.

MGM's purchase of LeoVegas in 2022 added an existing casino business to its ownership group, rather than replacing every casino name with BetMGM overnight. The British BetMGM launch followed in August 2023. You need both dates to understand how an established group acquired a new sister brand.

Heart Bingo's new operator

BetVictor announced its Heart Bingo partnership with Global on 9 September 2021, ahead of a 23 September relaunch. Global licensed the entertainment name to the new operation. BetVictor took over running the gambling business, so the partnership didn't involve selling the Heart radio station or changing who owned its broadcast brand.

Gamesys still publishes a support route for former Heart Bingo accounts created before 23 September 2021. That date draws a line between customer histories which the unchanged name can conceal. You shouldn't assume today's Heart Bingo team has the same responsibility for every account created years earlier.

Heart Bingo's agreement names BV Gaming Limited as its operator and Global Media Group Services Limited as the business licensing the entertainment brand. Those companies have different responsibilities for the same casino. Global's ownership of the name doesn't make it the company accepting your registration or holding your account.

BVGroup's portfolio places Heart Bingo alongside BetVictor and Smooth Spins. Jackpotjoy belongs to the old Gamesys comparison, so including it among Heart Bingo's current operating sisters would mix two periods. A previous relationship remains relevant to an old account enquiry without remaining the right answer for a new comparison.

Flutter's wider Sky family

Flutter completed its combination with The Stars Group on 5 May 2020, bringing Sky Betting & Gaming into the wider business. Sky Vegas consequently gained a parent-company connection with Paddy Power and Betfair. That transaction enlarged the ownership family without adding those names to Sky's customer registration agreement.

Sky's terms permit one account across Sky Bet, Sky Vegas, Sky Casino, Sky Poker and Sky Bingo, without including Paddy Power among those five services. Flutter's ownership list doesn't extend that registration to Paddy Power. The named account agreement tells you which credentials apply to each casino you want to compare.

A takeover can feel remote until you compare two casinos you already know. You might remember Sky Vegas as a separate company and choose Paddy Power because it looks unrelated. Flutter's ownership puts both businesses under the same parent. It doesn't, by itself, move your Sky funds into a Paddy Power balance.

Flutter's 2020 announcement gives you a completion date to attach to the company history. Sky's current terms give you the narrower account rule to use today. Neither replaces the other, and an old corporate announcement cannot settle a later change to registration conditions.

MGM, LeoVegas and BetMGM UK

MGM acquired LeoVegas in September 2022, before launching its British BetMGM service on 17 August 2023 using the acquired company's online casino technology. LeoVegas's platform appears by name in MGM's launch announcement. BetMGM entered an existing online casino business, with a company history that predates its first British customers.

BetMGM's American operation has a different company arrangement altogether. MGM's announcement distinguishes the British launch from the MGM and Entain joint venture operating in the United States and Canada. A familiar logo doesn't put a British registration inside that American account arrangement.

You can compare British BetMGM with LeoVegas without calling it an American account transferred across the Atlantic. LeoVegas runs the British business within MGM's wider group. Any claim that rewards or balances follow you between countries still needs its own published customer terms, regardless of MGM's ownership.

An acquisition followed by a launch can confuse older lists, since a description written before August 2023 cannot include a British BetMGM service. That doesn't automatically make its earlier history wrong. The question is whether you're looking for the brands available at that time or a complete description of today's sisters.

I'd keep the country beside the casino name when comparing international brands, because MGM's British and American businesses don't have the same company arrangement. An American agreement won't settle your British account question. Without that distinction, accurate terms for the wrong operation can leave you with an answer that doesn't apply to you.

When the software changes

BVGroup moved Heart Bingo and BetVictor onto Playtech Bingo in 2025 without presenting the move as another change of operator. Its February announcement describes a software partnership covering both brands. Playtech supplies the bingo platform, while the brands remain part of BVGroup's business.

Heart Bingo's September 2021 relaunch brought a new operator, whereas its February 2025 announcement concerned the bingo platform used by that operator's existing brands. Treating both dates as takeovers would confuse separate events. Heart Bingo didn't announce a second change of company when it introduced the Playtech product to its customers.

A new game menu is often easier to notice than a new company name. You log in and recognise fewer rooms, or the navigation has changed. Those differences can follow a supplier switch while your account remains with the same operator. The visual change alone doesn't tell you what happened behind it.

Playtech can supply technology to more than one gambling company without making those separate customers members of the same casino family. The operator agreement still needs reading alongside the product announcement. A shared bingo room can explain a familiar screen without establishing who runs either customer's account.

Existing account transfers

A casino's transfer notice needs to explain which existing accounts the new operator accepts. A press release about the deal isn't enough to establish that your registration moves automatically. Look for the date your account changes and any action the company asks you to take.

You should be able to distinguish a transferred account from a fresh application. An invitation to register again doesn't necessarily mean you qualify as a new customer for a promotion. The operator can apply account-history conditions even when it asks you to choose different credentials.

Heart Bingo's separate support route for older Gamesys accounts illustrates why the age of a registration matters. Include the original casino name and approximate opening date when contacting support. That gives the company something to identify without asking you to reconstruct every visit or transaction from memory.

Suppose you last used a casino in 2019 and return after its operator has changed. A password reset email from the current business won't establish who holds a balance from that earlier period. The account notice or support response needs to identify the responsible company, without requiring you to make another deposit to ask that question.

Cash and unfinished offers

Your cash balance and an unfinished casino promotion can follow different terms when an operator changes. An account showing both amounts before the move doesn't establish that they receive identical treatment. The company needs to explain the transfer or return of cash separately from the conditions attached to a reward.

An account with £40 cash and £20 promotional credit needs an answer about each amount, not an assurance that everything will be fine. Keep the figures recorded separately before the operator changes. The notice should explain what happens to each balance when the transfer takes effect.

A promotional deadline can fall before the operator's switch, but you shouldn't rush into more gambling because the old campaign is ending. Ask whether unused promotional credit expires and whether an alternative applies. The answer belongs to that promotion, not every offer across the new sister group.

A takeover headline doesn't make another welcome offer yours to claim, since an existing customer rule can cover earlier brands, households or connected accounts. Being asked to register again doesn't settle promotional eligibility. Read the receiving casino's conditions before accepting an introductory reward, especially when the same operator already knows you through another name.

I'd keep an unresolved balance enquiry with its case number until the responsible company answers it. Starting fresh conversations at several sister casinos can leave you chasing your tail. Ask which team owns the enquiry and whether a transfer changes the contact details you should use.

Finding the current sisters

Casino sister sites after an operator change should reflect the business running the current account service. Start with the company in the casino's terms, then compare it with the company named by each proposed sister. A similar web address or familiar design doesn't establish that connection.

An old domain that redirects deserves another look, because it can lead to a renamed service, a replacement brand or a business with different ownership. Record where you arrive and inspect that destination's current agreement. The address you typed isn't always the service that now receives your details.

Heart Bingo and Smooth Spins appear in BVGroup's present portfolio, giving you a starting point for a named-brand comparison. Each casino's conditions still need reading, since a corporate portfolio establishes a commercial connection without promising identical registration or promotional rules across both brands.

You should keep historical sisters labelled by the period when they belonged together. Jackpotjoy can explain Heart Bingo's Gamesys past without answering who operates Heart Bingo now. The distinction saves you from mixing an old customer enquiry with a current casino comparison.

Closing the old account

An operator change doesn't require you to continue gambling or open an account at one of its sisters. You can ask about closing the existing registration and returning eligible funds. A migration email should never make a replacement casino feel like the only way to resolve unfinished business.

You should also distinguish choosing another brand from choosing another owner. Moving between Sky Vegas and Paddy Power leaves you within Flutter's wider business. If the reason for leaving concerns that parent company, another Flutter brand doesn't answer the ownership question you started with.

A casino outside the old group needs its own current company check, because a familiar name can have changed hands since you last used it. An old bookmark won't tell you about a later sale. Check the current operator before treating that remembered casino as independent of the business you decided to leave.

Your existing spending limits and restrictions also deserve a direct answer during a transfer. Ask the company which controls remain in place before using the account. Another accessible registration doesn't establish that an earlier restriction has ended, and an operator change isn't a reason to increase your spending.

I'd settle the old account first and take time over any later decision, once the balance and support questions have answers from the responsible company. There's no obligation to choose a replacement casino afterwards. Gambling is for adults, and money needed for ordinary bills should stay outside any casino account.

Completed deals and proposed sales

MGM's September 2022 announcements describe completed share purchases, while its earlier offer announced an intended acquisition. Those are different stages of the same transaction. You need the completion information before describing a casino as belonging to its proposed buyer.

A publication date can differ from the event date inside a company announcement. BetVictor's archived Heart Bingo release describes the September 2021 partnership even though its news page carries later publishing information. Read the dated statement itself before assigning a year to the operator change.

BVGroup's February 2025 statement described a Playtech Bingo rollout at Heart Bingo and BetVictor, so it supports a product change affecting those two brands. The announced partnership doesn't establish a purchase of either business. Playtech didn't say that it had become the company responsible for those customers' accounts alongside supplying their bingo software.

We checked the company announcements, brand portfolios and account information on 8 September 2026. Heart Bingo's historical support notice supplies the old-account boundary. MGM's launch release separates British BetMGM from the American joint venture, while Sky's customer agreement identifies its shared registration.

You still need the operator to answer questions about your own account. We haven't tested a migration or transferred money between these companies. If an account change arrives while gambling feels difficult to control, contact GamCare for support before committing further money.

Frequently asked questions

Why do casino sister sites change?

A casino can move to another operator, enter a different ownership group or gain new sisters through a brand launch. A change of games supplier alone doesn't establish new ownership. The completed transaction and current customer agreement identify which relationship changed.

Is Heart Bingo still a Gamesys sister site?

Heart Bingo currently names BV Gaming Limited as its operator. Gamesys retains information for former accounts created before 23 September 2021, so its connection belongs to that earlier period. An old registration enquiry needs to retain the original opening date.

Does a casino takeover automatically move my balance?

Your casino's customer notice needs to confirm how it handles existing funds. A share purchase announcement doesn't establish a balance transfer. Keep the original amount and account details, then ask which company is responsible for returning or carrying over the money.

Does new casino software mean a new operator?

BVGroup's 2025 Playtech Bingo rollout changed the product used by Heart Bingo and BetVictor. It didn't announce a sale of those brands to Playtech. Check the company in your account agreement before interpreting a redesigned menu as an ownership change.
